On November 26, The LYCRA Company, a global company that strives to attract, develop and retain high-quality talent who will help us fulfill our purpose of Enhancing life through innovative garment solutions, launched its latest product and technology themed “Fabric the Future” at the Radisson Hotel in Dhaka in participation almost 200+ industry experts.
MD. Quamruzzaman, CEO, Tex Tree delivered his insightful welcome speech and inaugurate the event.
Tex Tree Ltd serves as the exclusive representative of The LYCRA Company, driving the brand’s presence in this key market.
At the event, the LYCRA company launched its new product called Bio-derived LYCRA® EcoMade fiber is made with 70 percent renewable content, certified under the USDA Bio-Preferred Program. Garments and fabrics made with this fiber deliver equivalent performance to those made with original LYCRA® fiber, and no re-engineering of fabrics, processes, or garment patterns is required.

-Delivers comparable performance to original spandex fiber
This renewable fiber will be available in 1H 2025.
Fabrizio Maggi, Commercial Director South Asia and EMEA Distributor took the floor and introduced us to the LYCRA company journey of more than 65 years of fiber innovation between 1958 to 2025 upcoming sustainable fibers.
Rishi Suri, Business Development Director South Asia, The LYCRA company Presents the product presentation. It’s all about fiber and fabric technologies by The LYCRA company. One of them is COOLMAX® EcoMade ALL SEASON technology fiber. COOLMAX® EcoMade ALL SEASON technology is engineered to meet this consumer’s needs. Made from 100% post-consumer recycled resources, this polyester fiber is designed to provide year-round comfort to many types of apparel. This versatile fiber helps the wearer stay cool when it’s warm and warm when it’s cool by using an innovative combination of fibers.
Another one is THERMOLITE® EcoMade technology fiber. THERMOLITE® EcoMade technology provides lightweight warmth for all activities. Constructed with functional, insulating hollow fibers that last, this technology can be used in apparel and non-apparel products. In addition, eco-conscious consumers will appreciate that these fibers can be made with either 100% recycled PET bottles or 100% textile waste.
Then he introduced the audience with LYCRA® T400® EcoMade fiber. More than 65% of the overall fiber content in LYCRA® T400® EcoMade fiber comes from recycled plastics and renewable plant-based resources. Best of all, it delivers the same desirable features and performance benefits as the original fiber. It consists of two fibers and mostly used in woven fabric.
LYCRA® BLACK technology derives its deep color from spun-in black pigment and resists damage caused by perspiration, sunscreen, lotion, UV rays, and chlorine. This spandex (elastane) fiber virtually eliminates grin-through in dark shades, which makes it the perfect choice to create body-hugging garments that deliver lasting color and performance.
By considering longevity, durability, and performance, LYCRA® dualFX® technology consists of two stretch fibers–one spandex (elastane) and the other polyester bi-component fiber—that create denim with unmatched performance. LYCRA® fiber provides durable stretch for comfort and fit, while LYCRA® T400® fiber provides bounce-back recovery for exceptional shape retention. These fibers are put together and covered with cotton to achieve an authentic denim look and feel, while offering extra flexibility, all-day comfort and lasting fit. This technology is part of our Dual Core patent estate and authentic LYCRA® dualFX® fabric can only be purchased from Dual Core authorized mills.
LYCRA developed LYCRA® FREEF!T® technology to help meet the consumer’s need for garments and waistbands with a soft, easy stretch. The yarns are treated by a patented process and woven into an open structure that fits a variety of body shapes within a size more comfortably. It eligible garments categories like Denim, Hosiery, Ready to wear, underwear etc.
LYCRA® FitSense™ technology is a revolutionary innovation that transforms garments by adding lightweight, targeted support exactly where it’s needed. This patented water-based dispersion is solvent-free and includes the same molecule as LYCRA® fiber. The dispersion is screen printed directly onto stretch fabric made with LYCRA® fiber, which results in targeted modulus and recovery power. This eliminates the need for additional panels and seams, which means lightweight fabrics can be used to create apparel that delivers on consumer needs for fit and functionality.
LYCRA® ADAPTIV fiber has a unique chemistry designed to adapt its properties to deliver the benefits the wearer needs at any moment. At rest, this fiber delivers the right recovery force to maintain its fit and provide shaping and compression as needed. But when the wearer starts moving, it adapts to deliver comfort in motion, and stays in place providing a second-skin effect that’s easy to put on and take off. The result is an unparalleled new-wearing experience. Due to its unique properties, it also enables inclusive and simplified sizing, potentially helping to reduce SKUs.
Last of presentation, he shows the collaboration between The LYCRA Company and Qore® based product aims to develop the world’s first large-scale renewable spandex bio-derived LYCRA® fibre using QIRA®, a bio-derived 1,4-butanediol (BDO) made in from renewable corn feedstock. This partnership is transformative because it enables a shift from fossil-based to renewable ingredients. According to the results of the Screening Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), using QIRA® has the potential to decrease the carbon footprint of LYCRA® fibre by up to 44% vs. traditional LYCRA® fibre made from fossil-based inputs. The Screening LCA covers cradle-to-gate, including raw materials extraction/cultivation and processing, upstream transportation and fibre production at a LYCRA® fibre facility in Asia.
The Last segment of the event was a question and answer session. Fabrizio Maggi and Rishi Suri wrap-up this segment by answering lots of questions from audience. They clarify all the things and focus on the advantages of LYCRA fiber than others.
