Bangladesh’s textile garments industry has been suffering a lot during this pandemic situation. It has largely affected order decrease due to COVID-19 outbreak. Last year the industry survived with some good initiatives and government support. As the country is largely affected by the second wave of COVID now it’s really a very hard time for this industry. Recently the BGMEA election has been completed and a new BGMEA committee with the leadership of Mr. Faruque Hassan has taken charge for 2021-2023. Textile Focus has been talking with BGMEA members’ company owners regarding the expectation from the new board.
Naimul Hassan Naim, Director at Abloom Design Limited & NRR Fashion:
Our new directors, no doubt have a very challenging time in front of them. They have to keep the ever-changing demands of the stakeholders, in these desperate times in mind. As well as, excel and promote our industries capabilities to the whole world. That being said, we couldn’t have asked for a more diverse and capable group of people to be representing us. We have foreign university graduates as well as years of experience on each of their sides.
More importantly, the newly elected president of BGMEA Mr. Faruque Hassan, MD of Giant group, has been by our side through thick and thin. He is a very popular personality and one we were always aware of. He has made great contributions to our economy. Abloom Design family is proud to see him and every one of the directors representing BGMEA, we are confident they will do an amazing job.
