Textile Focus: How did you find the ITMA Asia Singapore 2025 exhibition?
Summer Hsia: ITMA Asia Singapore 2025 was a really meaningful event for us. It offered a high-value, high-quality rencontre, an excellent chance to meet partners and clients from across Southeast and South Asia. It reminded me how important face-to-face interactions are, especially when presenting new products. Connecting with industry leaders and sharing our innovations was a great way to strengthen relationships and explore new market opportunities.
Textile Focus: As a manufacturer, how did you observe 2025?
Summer Hsia: The year 2025 has been very unstable for us and the clients. We all had to face several global uncertainties, including geopolitical tensions, new US tariffs, currency fluctuations affecting investment confidence, but we remain optimistic for the future. The textile industry is resilient and has always experienced ripple effects in the past. Markets will recover, providing opportunities even amidst challenges.
Textile Focus: What will be your strategy for 2026?
Summer Hsia: At Stäubli, our strategic focus is centered on empowering textile manufacturers with solutions that combine efficiency, precision, and sustainability. We’re investing heavily in automation technologies that streamline production processes, reduce downtime, and enhance fabric quality. Our weaving systems are increasingly designed to be modular and intelligent, allowing for greater flexibility and adaptability across different textile applications.
Textile Focus: How do you consider the Bangladesh industry?
Summer Hsia: Bangladesh stands as a pivotal player in the global textile industry, characterized by strong cost competitiveness, large-scale operations, and an increasingly skilled workforce. Stäubli values its partnership with Bangladesh, focusing on providing cutting-edge weaving and textile technology solutions that support local manufacturers in maintaining efficiency and quality. We are pleased to see the sector advancing in sustainability, though challenges like energy reliability and infrastructure bottlenecks persist. Collaboration is vital in overcoming these obstacles.
