turkish-textilesBy developing lucrative agreements with globally famous brands and textile companies, the Turkish textile sector hopes to increase its production capacity to $100 billion in the next few years.

The upward momentum in the field of technical textiles in recent years, the sector’s impressive production capacity, and Turkey’s strategic position between Europe and Asia, according to Ahmed Oksuz, President, Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters Association (ITHIB), offer the opportunity for potential partnerships that could bring tremendous benefits to all stakeholders. In 2021, Turkey aims to export approximately $12 billion in textiles and $30 billion in finished garments. More than a million individuals are employed in this industry. According to Oksuz, the company is entirely compliant with EU rules and norms, and has cut carbon emissions at all of its sites.
