Bangladesh is the global leader having the highest number of green garment buildings, where 62 are platinum rated, 110 gold rated, 10 silver, and four have no rating.

The country has been receiving the certificate since 2001. In the recently concluded year, 30+ RMG factories were recognised as LEED Certified.

The council honours factories based on several criteria – transformation performance, energy, water, and waste management. The best performers are rated with platinum, followed by gold and silver.

In this crisis moment, Bangladesh is the global leader in green factories having the highest number of green garment buildings. Due to the green buildings still, global buyers are very confident in our factory on sustainability said, Mohiuddin Rubel, Director, BGMEA.
