According to OTEXA, In January and April 2025, the US experienced a notable increase in apparel imports, totalling $26.22 billion globally, representing a 10.65% rise from the previous year. Specifically, imports from Bangladesh surged to $2.98 billion, showcasing a substantial growth rate of 29.33% compared to the same period in 2024.

Key insights on apparel imports during this period include:
- China experienced a 0.66% growth
- India saw a significant increase of 20.30%
- Pakistan’s imports rose by 19.57%
- Vietnam showed a growth of 16.06%
Comparing the number of pieces imported:
- Bangladesh witnessed a 28.30% surge
- Vietnam saw a 12.05% increase
- China had a modest 1.80% rise
- India experienced a notable 20.63% growth
- Pakistan showed a 24.07% increase
The unit price per piece varied across countries:
- Bangladesh: 0.80% change
- Vietnam: 3.58% increase
- China: -1.12% decrease
- India: -0.27% decrease
- Pakistan: -3.63% decline
These insights shed light on the dynamic landscape of apparel imports, showcasing the evolving trends in the industry. It is observed that even though Bangladesh, India, Vietnam, and Pakistan are having good growth in terms of value and pieces, in terms of price per unit, almost all the countries are struggling other than Vietnam, which is a big concern.
