Vetrine Project concludes with final conference and reinforces European commitment to sustainable fashion

The final conference of the European VETRINE project brought together ATP – Portuguese Textile and Apparel Association, project partners, experts, students, and industry representatives to present the key outcomes of a collaborative effort dedicated to promoting sustainability, innovation, and skills development within the fashion sector.

The high level of participation, both in person and online, confirmed the relevance of the topics addressed by the project, which sought to tackle the challenges of the sustainable transition through the development of specialised training programmes and the practical application of new methodologies across the fashion value chain.

Importance of collaboration

During the event, Christina Stamataki, from Eurotraining Educational Organization and Project Coordinator, highlighted the importance of collaboration among the various European partners in ensuring the initiative’s success. Ana Paula Dinis, ATP Director General, shared ATP’s experience in coordinating connections between trainees and companies within the sector, a key component in ensuring the practical application of the knowledge acquired.

One of the central moments of the conference focused on the students from four European countries whose sustainable fashion products received the highest number of votes on the project platform. The participants presented their work to the audience, followed by a roundtable discussion moderated by Alice Gras of AG Conseil, which explored the impact of the experience on their academic and professional development.

The VETRINE project demonstrated how international cooperation between training providers, technology centres, business associations, and companies can help accelerate the sustainable transition of the European textile and apparel sector, preparing a new generation of professionals for the challenges of the green economy.
