Globally we are passing a very hard time which was not observed in our lifetime ever. More or less every industry is suffering. The textile industry is the main earning source of Bangladesh’s economy and a large portion of our population is directly involved in this industry. We have to make strong our sourcing hub and proper supply chain

Joy Saha, Managing Director, Sumcon Biotechnology Ltd.

joy_sumconCOVID-19 has given us some lessons for our personal, social and business life. We have to think deeply about our regular activities. Health and safety is the major concern in our life. Our industry is largely affected by the pandemic as there are fewer orders and some factories are closed. We have to maintain our business smartly in the coming days. We must strengthen our sourcing hub as there will be a more competitive market and we have to receive the orders and negotiate a lot with the buyers. The market is open and more competitive, and we have to handle the orders with proper costing and approaching value-added products. An appropriate supply chain channel can be as an asset for reducing the cost. If we think the traditional way, we will lose our business. Post-COVID-19 will be a very hard time for the industry as there will be fewer orders and low prices also more competition. I believe this situation will be changed for the time being. We have to continue our business till the good time!

Nationally we are largely dependent on Textile Industry. For this we are to focus on how we can handle is the pandemic situation and focus on the future. I believe, maintaining a string sourcing hub with an appropriate supply chain can be a solution in this pandemic situation.
