The Simon Project, in collaboration with BGMEA, organized a conference titled “The Simon Project: Improving Worker Health as a New Source of Competitive Advantage.”
Held on November 27 at the BGMEA Complex, the conference brought together participating factories, international brands, and key stakeholders whose contributions have played a vital role in the progress of The Simon Project.

In her address, BGMEA Vice President Vidiya Amrit Khan highlighted the importance of workers’ well-being for the long-term sustainable development of the industry. She reiterated that worker health remains a top priority for BGMEA and the apparel sector of Bangladesh.
She also emphasized the significant potential of Simon Project’s data in improving the health and nutrition of female garment workers.

She noted that such data-driven insights can support timely interventions to reduce health risks that negatively affect both productivity and overall well-being.
Javier Chércoles-Blazquez, Ph. D, Director, The Simon Project, also spoke at the conference. Ms. Rumana Rashid, Director, BGMEA was also present at the event.
