Bangladesh wants to set up industries in Uzbekistan using cotton and gas

Desk Report: According to ministry of foreign affairs, Bangladesh wants to set up industry in Uzbekistan using their natural gas and cotton., Bangladesh also interested in investing in textile, ceramic, pharmaceutical, RMG sector and other sectors in the country. The first Foreign Office Consultation between Bangladesh and Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent between Uzbek Deputy Foreign Minister Furkat Ahmedovich Sidikov and Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen. They discussed entire gamut of bilateral relations, explored new areas of mutual interest, and agreed to boost bilateral trade and investment.

At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two countries to observe 2022-23 as the year of development of relations. It was signed by the Foreign Secretary on behalf of Bangladesh and the Deputy Foreign Minister on behalf of Uzbekistan. Under the MoU Foreign Service Academy of Bangladesh and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Uzbekistan on cooperation in the areas of mutual training cooperation, exchange of experiences and publications, information and communication technology, consular consultation, etc.  With the consent of both the parties, it was decided to hold the next Foreign Office Consultation meeting will be held  in Dhaka.
