Imagine if you could wear your knitwear as bottoms or anywhere you want. Both summer and winter, office and party. Well, with indigo knit you can, sort of. Indigo knit is a woven fabric that brings together superior flexibility with the cool look of worn in denim . Let’s see how to do it.

denimIndigo knit is made more or less the same way as denim. Cotton fibres are carted, spun, indigo dyed, and finally woven. Polyester and elastane are added to the cotton to increase flexibility and fabric recovery. Although Indigo Knit is in fact technically a woven fabric, it feels more like knitted sweater than denim. Jump into a pair of Indigo Knits and you’ll be surprised by the soft touch and comfortable fit.

Woven fabrics and knitted fabrics, as a general rule have different qualities. Woven fabrics such as denim, gabardine, popline and others tend to be stable, but more rigid than knitted fabrics. On the other side knitted fabrics are flexible, stretch in both the vertical and horizontal direction even non elastic yarns are used.Indigo knit is made more or less the same way as denim. In woven knitted denim fabric wefts include hard yarns and elastomeric yarns in a predetermined arrangement such that one or two hard yarn is alternately arranged with one or two elastomeric yarn. The elastomeric yarns having greater shrinkage ratio than hard yarns. The hard yarns form under portions and over portions with respect to warps, under portions being formed when hard yarns pass along the back side of the warps and defining loop portions. Over portions being formed when the hard yarns pass along the front side of the warps and define connection portions. The effects created through these structures have made denim a popular and fashionable knit look items in clothing industries.
