BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) organized an orientation program for the newly admitted students of the Fall 2023 semester at its main campus in Nishatnagar, Turag on 20 September 2023.
The Vice Chancellor of the university Prof. Dr. S.M. Mahfuzur Rahman presided over the session. In his speech, he said BUFT is a specialized university for creating skilled manpower in the textile and fashion sectors. He advised students to be focused on their studies and to study regularly to achieve good results.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BUFT, Mr. Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, MP, was the Special Guest of the program and graced the occasion with his presence. He spoke on the contributions of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and how he envisioned education as the strength and backbone of the nation.
Mr. Mohiuddin encouraged the students to work hard to be successful in life. Barrister Md. Sameer Sattar was the Chief Guest of the event. He advised students to study well, develop themselves and be career ready by the time they graduate in order to positively contribute to Bangladesh’s economy.
Popular influencer and education entrepreneur, Founder & CEO of Ten Minute School Mr. Ayman Sadiq was a Special Guest at the program. He appreciated the efforts of BUFT in establishing itself as a leading educational institution in the RMG sector.
BUFT Trustee Board Members, Mr. Abdullah Hil Rakib, Managing Director of TEAM Group, and former BGMEA Vice President, Mr. Moshiul Azam Sazal, also attended the program and spoke on the occasion. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Engr Ayub Nabi Khan delivered the welcome address. He encouraged the students to be skilled in technologies pertaining to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Dean of Faculty of Business Studies Distinguished Prof. Md. Muinuddin Khan, Dean of Faculty of Engineering Studies, Dr. Sirajul Karim Choudhury, Dean of Faculty of Textile Engineering Prof. Dr. Engr. Abu Bakr Siddique, Dean of Faculty of Apparel Studies Prof. Dr. Mohammad Rubaiyat Chowdhury, Dean of Faculty of Fashion Studies Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain addressed the audience in the opening session.
Treasurer and Dean of the Faculty of Sciences Prof. Dr. Abdul Jalil ended the session with a vote of thanks. Registrar, Deans, Faculty members, officials, staff of BUFT, and a large number students were also present at the function.
