Fashion Makers Ltd. achieves LEED platinum certificate

The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) has recognized another eco-friendly garment factory in Bangladesh as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). The newly LEED platinum certified factory is Fashion Makers Ltd of Gazipur.

According to Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), the number of accredited eco-friendly garment factories in Bangladesh is 215.

A new green factory has been added:

Rating system: LEED O+M: Existing Buildingsv4.1 – LEED v4.1
Points: 87
Certification level: Platinum

This brings the total number of LEED Green factories to 215, with 81 Platinum and 120 Gold rated.

As of now, 55 of the top 100 highest-rated LEED Factories are in Bangladesh.

Fashion Makers Limited, one of the oldest business houses in Bangladesh, is a market leader in the manufacturing and exporting of garments, textiles products.
