Ms. Rae Eun Sung, Vice Chairman of Youngone Group, has been appointed 15th Chairman of the Korea Fashion Industry Association (KFIA). She is the first female Chair in the organization’s 39-year history. Ms. Sung was unanimously elected by the Nominating Committee to succeed the incumbent Chairman, Mr. Jun-seok Han.

Established in 1985 to advance the fashion industry, the KFIA has over 400 member companies, including fashion brands, manufacturers, and fashion industry-related companies. The Association takes the lead in protecting the rights and interests of member companies to help globalize and strengthen the competitiveness of the Korean fashion industry.

Speaking at the KFIA’s General Assembly, Ms. Sung said, “I am honored to take on such an important responsibility at a critical time when the fashion industry faces many challenges and needs further innovation. I am committed to contribute to the development of the fashion industry and the Korean economy as an icon of change and innovation.”

Ms. Sung said that creating a digital ecosystem has been and will continue to be key to globalizing K-fashion and upgrading K-manufacturing. “I will organically cooperate and collaborate with the government, related organizations, and related stream industries to protect the rights and interests of our members and further enhance the status of the fashion industry,” she added.
