BGMEA Leaders Pay Homage to Bangabandhu at Tungipara

The newly elected board of directors of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) for the term 2024-2026, led by President S.M. Mannan (Kochi), paid respects to the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, by laying a wreath at his mausoleum in Tungipara, Gopalganj.

After laying the wreath, the BGMEA leaders stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu, the architect of Bangladesh’s Independence.

Later, they offered a special prayer seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975. A special prayer was also offered wishing for longevity of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members.

President of BGMEA also signed the visitors’ book at the Tungipara Mausoleum Complex.

Among those present were former President of BGMEA & Bangladesh Awami League industries and trade affairs secretary Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Former Director of BGMEA Md. Khosru Chowdhury MP(Dhaka-18), BGMEA President S.M. Mannan (Kochi), and other board members of the Executive Committee, including Syed Nazrul Islam (First Vice President, BGMEA), Khandoker Rafiqul Islam (Senior Vice President, BGMEA), Md. Nasir Uddin (Vice President – Finance, BGMEA), Abdullah Hil Rakib (Vice President, BGMEA), Asif Ashraf (Director, BGMEA), Md. Imranur Rahman (Director, BGMEA), Shovon Islam (Director, BGMEA), Md. Ashikur Rahman (Tuhin) (Director, BGMEA), Anowar Hossain (Manik) (Director, BGMEA), Mesbah Uddin Khan (Director, BGMEA), Shams Mahmud (Director, BGMEA), Rajiv Chowdhury (Director, BGMEA), Md. Jakir Hossain (Director, BGMEA), Nusrat Bari Asha (Director, BGMEA), Md. Mohiuddin Rubel (Director, BGMEA), Barrister Shehrin Salam Oishee (Director, BGMEA), Md. Nurul Islam (Director, BGMEA), Saifuddin Siddiquie Sagar (Director, BGMEA), Md. Rezaul Alam (Miru) (Director, BGMEA), Md. Absar Hossain (Director, BGMEA), and other officials of BGMEA, along with journalists from various media outlets.
