ITET organized Members of Parliament, Govt. Nominated CIP & Awarded Textile Engineers Reception 2019

Textile industry is the heart of our national economy. Textile engineers are the driving force of this industry. The Institution of Textile Engineers & Technologists (ITET), Bangladesh is the professional institution for the textile engineers. ITET is working for the betterment of the textile industry and its members as well. Recently ITET organized a grand event “Members of Parliament, Govt. nominated CIP & Awarded textile engineers Reception 2019” on 31st July 2019 at Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort.feature-image

Dr. Md. Murad Hassan MP, State Minister, Ministry of Information, People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as Chief Guest. Engr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman, President, ITET presided over the event. Senior textile engineers attained at this graceful event to show their honor for the textile engineers who are contributed a lot in the industry development.

Dr. Murad expressed his happiness to present at this reception. He wished that near future there will be more entrepreneurs from textile engineers. He acknowledged the contribution of textile engineers for the textile sector. Engr. Md. Shafiqur Rahman thanked everybody to join at this grand event. It was great pleasure to organize such reception event for textile engineers for the first time.

Engr. Md. Mozaffar Hossain MP. CIP & Managing Director, SIM Group:

engr-mozaffar-hoaasinEngr. Mohammad Mozaffar Hossain MP newly elected Member of Parliament of general election in 2018 from Jamalpur-05. He was inspired in politics with the inspiration of Father of the nation Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman when he was student. He is a freedom fighter. He completed his Textile Engineering degree from Textile Engineering College, now Bangladesh University of Textiles. He is the founder of SIM Group. He has long business experience and started his own business in 1996 later on established woven fabrics weaving mill in 2001. During his successful career he implemented the following business enterprises: Authentic Color Limited, SIM Fabrics Limited, Mozaffar Hossain Spinning Mills Limited and SIM Apparels Limited. He has travelled UK, Switzerland, Germany, France, china, Korea, Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia almost around the Globe. He is also engaged in various social activities like school, college, madrasa, and mosque. He is the Ex- President of The Institution of Textile Engineers & Technologists (ITET), Ex- Director of BTMA, President of Bangubandhu Textile Engineering Association, Vice President of JamalpurZillaSomity, Ex- Vice President of International Lion Club (Red Sun 315 B-3), Member of IEB, Baridhara Society, Greater MymansinghSomity and Assistant Secretary of Bangladesh Awamileagqe. He is also CIP (Commercially Important Person).

Engr. Md. Shamsuzzaman CIP, Managing Director, Micro Fibre Group:

back coverEngr. Shamsuzzaman got admitted into College of Textile Technology in 1978. After graduation, Engr. Shamsuzzaman started his career with a German MNC named Hoechst (BD) Ltd. as Textile Engineer for sales & marketing of dyestuff and auxiliary chemicals. Engr. Shamsuzzaman has started his business as Micro Fibre Group since two decades under one hand efforts and ceaseless devotion. The group is well equipped by dyestuffs, chemicals, knitting, dyeing, all over and placement printing, embroidery, labeling and other allied accessories for garment production with sufficient supporting facilities. At present 22000+ employees are working in Micro Fiber group. The export was nil in 2000 and in 2019 the export is $246 Million (Excluding Spinning, Dyestuff, auxiliary, Trims, Fabric etc.). At present Micro Fiber Group holds the bellow sister concerns: Orient Chem-Tex Ltd, Micro Fiber Ltd, A-One Polar Ltd, Liberty Knitwear Ltd, Sungarh Tex Ltd, Midland Knitwear Ltd, Micro Trims Ltd, Fortune Top Pte. Ltd. Engr. Shamsuzzaman is the Sponsor Director of- Midland Bank Ltd, Zenith Islamic Life Insurance Co. Ltd, Shahjibazar Power Co. Ltd, Midland Power Company Ltd, Petromax Refinery Co. Ltd. Engr. Shamsuzzaman awarded the honor of CIP (Commercially Important Person) 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015. Micro Fiber Group is Gold Supplier of H&M & Strategic Partner of C&A. He is Founder Member, Advisor and Former President (13th Council) of The Institution of Textile Engineers & Technologists (ITET), Bangladesh.

Engr. Abdus Sobhan CIP, Managing Director, Auko-Tex Group:

back coverEngr. Abdus Sobhan was born in a Muslim family from Faridpur district. He completed his S.S,C& H.S.C from Farudpur. He got admitted into College of Textile Technology in 1983. He completed his graduation with first class, 3rd in merit position. After completing his textile engineering degree he worked at some reputed companies. To flourish his working experience started his business in 2002 named Auko-Tex Limited. Engr. Abdus Sobhan received 02 times President’s Award for Industrial Development.  He is awarded the honor of CIP (Commercially Important Person) for six times, National Productivity & Quality Excellence Award, RMG Times Best Practice Award 2019, London Quality Crown Award, Best practice Award by The European Society for Quality Research, Social &Environmental Excellence Award, Best Customer Award by Sonali Bank, Mother Taresa Award, and Top Ten Customer Award by UPS. He leads a normal life but his personal qualities make me extra ordinary which is honesty, patriotism, man- kindness. Engr. Sobhan is engaged in social activities and donation i.e 05 stored student residential hall for Bangladesh University of Textiles, 03 stored building for Kanaipur High School at Faridpur, 03 stored building forPuradia Government Primary School etc. Beside these he generously donates school-college construction, mosques, orphanage, and home for distressed people, student scholarship, free skill development programs for young generation. He has founded SajidSobhan Foundation to support poor, disable & distressed people. He inspires the young generation to work for the nation and mankind.

Engr. Md. Borhan Uddin CIP, Managing Director, Network Group:

engr-md-borhan-uddinEngr. Md. Borhan Uddin completed his B. Sc. from College of Textile Technology 1991.After graduation he started his first job at Jamuna Knitting & Dyeing Ltd. In 1997 joined at The Sikder Apparel Hosiery Ltd. as a General Manager of Knitting and dying department.From 2000 to 2003 he was appointed as a General Manager at Viyellatex Ltd in the department of Dyeing. Before he started his own business, he gave his service at Mymun Textile Ltd, as a General Manager. In 2006 Mr. Borhan Uddin with his younger brother he took ownership of his own garments business Network Clothing Ltd. In 2014 he moved to the new & own building at RowshanSarak, Gazipur. Now he has 35 lines of production capacity with 2,200 workers in Knit department, 1,400 workers in Woven department. Beside this garment he also owner of knitting, printing & accessories organizations. Now his company yearly export about US Dollar 32 million.

By investing in social, environmental and community programs he is playing a vital role in the socio-economic development of the communities. In his village at Chatmohar, Pabna he helps poor students with tuition fees to continue with their studies, he helps poor & needy family with housing, frequently donates to Mosque & Madrasa for orphaned children.Md. Borhan achieved the CIP award for being as a Commercial Business Leader in 2011, 2013, 2016 & 2016.He had been awarded with various national recognitions from various business associations.

Dr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Regional Chief (South-East Asia), Hohenstein Institute Bangladesh:

back coverDr. Kamrul graduated from Bangladesh College of Textile Engineering & Technology. He was awarded German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarship. In 2003, Dr. Kamrul obtained M.Sc. in Textile and Clothing Engineering from Dresden University of Technology, Germany. After graduation, Dr. Kamrul started his career with Siddique Textiles Ltd. He also worked at Sinha Yarn Dyeing Ltd, Beximco Textiles and Anlima Yarn Dyeing Ltd. After his post-graduation, he founded his start-up, Hue Plus, an apparel sourcing company in 2004. Subsequently, he established Tootal Quality Resources Ltd and Elbe International, together with some of his close friends. In addition, he serves for Hohenstein Textile Testing Institutes GmbH & Co. KG, a German based multinational company as a Regional Chief. He leads the team of Hohenstein Laboratories Bangladesh Ltd (state-of-the-art testing lab) as the Managing Director.

He is the Board of Directors of Sirajganj Economic Zone Ltd, Securex (Pvt.) Ltd, Cosmos Services Co. Ltd, Cambodia and R & K Asset Management GbR, Germany. He is also associated with different trade organizations, which includes Bangladesh German Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Bangladesh Spain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bangladesh Thai Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Bangladesh Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry. In recognition of his contribution to the growth of Bangladesh economy as a NRB, he was awarded the Bangladesh Bank Remittance Award 2016. In recent past, he signed an agreement and handed over two Perpetual Trust Funds to the Vice Chancellor of BUTEX. He contributed in four Perpetual Trust Funds to AnjumanMofidul Islam to assist orphans, widows, poor, infirm, invalid, distressed and helpless people to make them useful citizens through education, training and rehabilitation project programs. Dr. Kamrul is a life member of AnjumanMofidul Islam, Bangladesh. Dr. Kamrul is a very proud life member of ITET, IEB Bangladesh and The Textile Institute, UK.
