NICCA Chemical Seminar on Bridging Bangladesh and Japan with Innovative and Sustainable Chemicals

nicca-group-photoNICCA CHEMICAL CO., LTD.  Recently conducted a Technical Seminar at Radisson Blue Water Garden in Dhaka, Bangladesh for its customers from Textile Division. Nicca Chemical is leading the way by proactively engaging textile mills and brands in Bangladesh to reduce environmental footprint and to drive sustainable excellence to compete in the global market.

NICCA is a leading supplier of chemicals in developing sustainable, high performing processing and effects chemicals that have low environmental impact, NICCA Chemical Co., Ltd. recently co-organized a technical seminar entitled “Bridging Bangladesh and Japan with Innovative and Sustainable Chemicals”. Which held on 20th July ’19. The event brought together more than 300 representatives from textile mills, JICA, JETRO, Embassy of Japan, major Japanese buying houses, brands, retailers, NGOs and academic institutes to discuss the challenges and opportunities they collectively face in the apparel industry. Covering a multitude of issues ranging from the ZDHC and innovative environment products and solutions to meet the industry’s toughest challenges, each topic was designed to help create value-add for the respective textile segments.

Yasumasa Emori, CEO, NICCA Chemical Co., Ltd. was present as a key speaker in the seminar while Kotaro Takeuchi, General Manager, Hong Kong Nicca Chemical Ltd. Dhaka Liaison Office delivered the welcome speech. ‘Bridging Bangladesh and Japan from heart to heart’ was the topic that Yasumasa Emori, CEO, NICCA Chemical Co., Ltd. speaks and he said – Japan has a long-time friendship with Bangladesh as the JICA’s contribution comes to mention which makes the infrastructure in Bangladesh dramatically improved. NICCA aims to create value by providing technology for a sustainable world. Emori informed NICCA is covering as number one market share in Japan. And it has 12 facilities in eight countries with more than 78 years of technical experience background. So NICCA can give the most sustainable product that concept on the environment, health and safety. He pronounced in the seminar that 10% of NICCA profit from Bangladesh sale will be given as donation for Bangladeshi students for education purposes, along with its own scholarship association for Asian International students, and he also mentioned that they are already in discussion with BUTEX which is the only government university for textile in Bangladesh.

In a separate presentation, titled ‘How to sustain in the world textile market’ delivered by Atsu Kobayashi, Director, Textile Chemicals Division, Chemicals Unit of NICCA Chemical Co., Ltd. said, “Creating a sustainable textile value chain is one of the top priorities in the textile industry. As one of the global leaders in addressing industry challenges with sustainable products and solutions meeting economic and ecological needs, NICCA is committed and well positioned to help the industry address these challenges foreseen the textile global map in 2025. NICCA will continue to invest and collaborate with various stakeholders in Bangladesh to help the industry minimize their environmental footprint and to meet sustainability targets to compete in the global market,’

Nari Takeuchi, Senior Manager, Product Development Department of NICCA Chemical CO., Ltd. also speaks on ‘Innovation for Sustainable textile processes’. In his presentation, he showed how bleaching agent effect by heating process with the new development of energy saving product. Also demonstrated the innovative products of NICCA for polyester dyeing, PFC free durable water repellent products for cotton, nylon and polyester and solutions for ETP.

7 Posters was organized in the seminar room for open discussion with the audience and lead by Mr. Susumu Katagiri, Managing Director of Nicca Chemical Co., and finally ended with the vote of thanks from Biswajit Banik, Senior Country Manager of Nicca for Bangladesh market who was also the master of the ceremony for the full technical seminar. During his thanking note he also emphasize on the quality of product and technical service from NICCA is like the word “Quality from Japan”. He also shared his points on increased demand for polyester fibre from brands and Nicca is real leader in polyester processing chemicals in Asia.

Asia is a key growth market for NICCA Textile Division. In the last few years, NICCA has invested $30M in the region. These include world-class distribution centers and facilities located in China, Indonesia, Thailand, and Taiwan. In addition, a state-of-the-art NICCA INNOVATION CENTRE in Fukui, Japan was also established to complement all the facilities across the globe and for all the customers. These measures firmly positions NICCA as a truly competitive global and regional chemical manufacturer and demonstrate its confidence in the growth of the textile industry in Asia.
