KFL Group launched its new business unit KFL Solartech Ltd

Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh-based one of the largest apparel manufacturer and exporter KFL Group launched its new venture KFL Solartech Ltd on 19 March at Westin in the capital. KFL Solartech signed an agreement with the number one Solar PV Manufacturer Longi for 50 MW Rooftop solar systems as EPC by 2025. More than 100 apparel industry owners, experts and buyers were present at the Grand launching ceremony.

At the event BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said, According to the sustainable strategic vision, BGMEA  has set a target of exporting apparel worth $100 billion by 2030 while creating employment for 6 million people in the apparel sector during the period by ensuring 100% gender equality, inclusiveness, and a decent workplace.

In line with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), the industry aims to reduce carbon emissions, energy and groundwater usage, and increase the use of sustainable raw materials, and renewable energy, the BGMEA President added.  I think KFL Solartech and all stakeholders will support achieving this target, he added 

BGMEA Vice President Shahidullah Azim said, “Energy efficiency, renewable energy and carbon footprint reduction have been one of the core areas of concern for BGMEA to facilitate sustainable growth and maintain the competitiveness of the industry in the long run.”

“Therefore, investments in renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies have become imperative throughout the industry.” Bangladesh now has the highest number of LEED-certified factories, Shahidullah Azim added.

We are also one of the pioneers to use the industry rooftop solar power plant with net metering to the national grid. The relentless cost savings and environmental safety have been brilliant from which we have decided to set up around 5 MW in our different concerns phase-wise and initially we’ll install 2 MW in Khantex Composite.

We have 150+ Global footprints and 5000+ global customers In 2022 Longi Introduced the Hi-MO 6 the first module dedicated and designed for the global commercial and industrial market.
Mir Md. Ahsan Huda, Sr. Sales Manager, Longi Green Energy Technology Co.Ltd said in his presentation on the Longi Bangladesh market where 20 + industry already installed rooftop solar projects. 

LONGi has an impressive record of involvement in projects in Bangladesh in the last two years, providing modules for the 73MW Mymensingh power plant in 2020 and the 134.3MW Mongla plant in 2021, each classified at the time as the country’s largest. In October 2021, LONGi signed an agreement with major domestic consortium Beximco for the supply of modules for a 280MW ground-mounted plant, another important milestone for the company in supporting Bangladesh in achieving its renewable energy goals. The project is expected to be connected to the grid by the end of 2022.

Mr. Waliullah Walid, a representative from Huawei shared on FusionSolar for a Sustainable Business(Huawei C&I Smart PV Solution. Mr. Omar Faruque representative from SMA authorized distribution partner SolarHive spoke at the event. 

Rafi Ibn Hussine, sales manager, of Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd said in his presentation, they have the highest installed capacity in Bangladesh, more than 425MW+ and their market share is 72.72 per cent as of today. This is the only OEM company for inverters in the Bangladesh market.
