Md. Imranur Rahman, Managing Director of Laila Group and Director of BGMEA has been selected as the Commercially Important Person (CIP) (Export) 2022 by the Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on April 3, 2024.
The government on Wednesday announced the names of 140 businesses as commercially important persons (industry) for their contribution to the country’s overall economy through setting up industries, creating employment and increasing national income in 2022.
According to the notification, every nominated CIP will get a CIP card and enjoy a number of facilities, including priority in seat reservation at government transports in air, road, rail and waterways, getting invitations at national events and a letter of introduction from foreign ministry for getting a visa to go aboard. The CIPs will be able to use the cards as passes to use the VIP lounge-2 at airports.
Imranur Rahman, the eligible son of Mr. Siddiqur Rahman, former President of BGMEA. After graduation, he joined the garment business as a director of the Sterling Group in 2004 and in 2005 became the managing director of Bando Design Limited, a newly established garment factory in Ashulia.
Inspired by her father, He is now leading the Laila Group, founded in her mother’s name. He was the Director of BGMEA last 3 years and again elected for 2024-26 term and 2 years as the Co-Chairman of the Standing Committee (Sports) and again elected. For the first time, the International Federation of Corporate Football (FIFCO) has nominated him as the sole director from Bangladesh for his organizational skills.
