The Safeguards Committee in Indonesia conducted an inquiry into the impact on the exportation of clothes from Bangladesh to the nation of Southeast Asia. Following a submission from the Indonesian Textile Association, the committee conducted a survey.
The next round of talks will take place in the period from 21 to 22 October. All countries shall meet with the PTA in accordance to the laws of origin. The latest developments could affect negotiations as well as exports to the country from Bangladesh if Indonesia finally imposes a safeguard duty upon completion of the inquiry. In its notice, Indonesia evaluated the Association’s proposal and said that appropriate facts existed to support the commencement of a security inquiry. Overcoats, skirts, suits, ties, T-shirts, people and other wardrobes, jerseys, pullovers, cardigans, babywear and apparel pieces, apparel or pieces of garments, jacks, blazers, pants and other articles are included in the investigation.
