The first-panel introduction meeting of the Buyer’s Council was held on the occasion of the BGBA Members’ meet

The election to the Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA) for the 2024-2026 term will be held on March 2, 2024. The candidates of the Buyer’s Council for the upcoming BGBA elections were formally introduced at the first panel introduction meeting held on February 9 at Hotel Le Meridian in Dhaka. Buyer’s Council is participating in the BGBA election with the slogan “We are united, We are strong”.

The panel introduction program was graced by the industry’s most senior Buying House owner, Mr. Anisuzzaman, Managing Director, Imperial International, opening speech by Mr Jannatul Baki, Managing Director, Needle Works Bd Ltd.

And also by the senior leaders of BGMEA, Mr. Md. Moshiul Azam (Shajal) Ex Vice President, BGMEA, Managing Director, Poshmi Sweates Ltd. 

Md Kamal Uddin, CIP, Managing Director, Torque Group, Chairman, Standing Committee, Trade Fair, BGMEA. Mr Nasiruddin Ahmed, Managing Director, Nathan Fashion Ltd, and others. 

The leaders emphasized the importance of the buying house industry in the RMG supply chain and called upon all the voters to vote for the Buyer’s Council to build a skilled and experienced Executive Committee of BGBA during the upcoming election. 

The past Secretary General of BGBA, Mr Aminul Islam, CEO, City Apparels Texpo, explained in detail about the journey of the Association.

During the closing speech, the Ex-President, The panel Leader Mr. Kazi Iftekher Hossain, mentioned that the upcoming Executive committee will be formed with the consideration of various aspects of the candidate’s skill set, Candidates who are skilled and experienced with the social-organizational skill-set, having capacity to contribute in critical policy-making issues and can take part in negotiations with various stakeholders. The candidates are chosen very selectively so it is believed that the upcoming Executive Committee will be able to serve the industry and its members.

At the event, the leaders urged BGBA members to vote to elect the full panel of Buyer’s Council in the upcoming BGMEA election.

The evening was glamour with a majestic fashion show by Manas Fashion House, followed by a musical evening by National award winner, Somnur Monir Konal.
