BGBA Progressive Alliance Strong Bonds with Members at Exclusive Meetup

The Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA) and Progressive Alliance came together to host a dedicated members meetup on February 10, 2024, at the UCB Lounge Hall, Uttara Club, Dhaka. The exclusive event, held from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, witnessed the participation of approximately 350 BGBA members, representing buying house owners across the garment industry.

The meetup aimed to foster critical dialogue and provide networking opportunities for key members in the Bangladesh garment sector. The event saw high-level participation from notable figures, including Former BGBA President Quiyum Reza Chowdhury, S.M. Mannan Kochi (President candidate, Sommilito Porishad, BGMEA), Fazle Shamim Ehsan (Vice President, BKMEA), Md. Morshed Sarwar Sohel (Vice President, Finance, BKMEA), Md. Rasaul Karim Chowdhury Popy (Chairman, Nipa Group), Safina Rahman (CEO, Lakshmi Innerwear LTD.), Mezbahuddin Ali (Chairman, Wega Group & Former Director, BGMEA), Md. Siddiqur Rahman (Former President, BGMEA), Mohammed Nasir (Former Vice President, BGMEA), and other industry leaders.

Md. Abdul Hamid Pintu, Co-Ordinator of Progressive Alliance, expressed optimism about the upcoming BGBA election scheduled for March 2, stating, “I’m hoping for a new start through the proper democratic process.”

The BGBA, representing the Bangladesh Readymade Garment (RMG) sector, is dedicated to promoting the industry’s development. Serving as a bridge between the government, the garment industry, and society, the BGBA advocates for the well-being of its members and the overall growth of the sector. The meetup not only provided a platform for exchange but also set the stage for collaborative efforts to drive positive change within the Bangladesh garment industry.
