Sustainability is a major issue in textile processing now. Leading textile processing chemical manufacturer S&D Chemicals (Pvt.) Ltd, Sri Lanka & textile solution system partner Bluesign Technologies Ag, Switzerland jointly organized a symposium on, “The Bluesign Solution & Sustainable use of Textile Chemicals” at Le Meridien, Dhaka. The symposium was about the sustainable solution of textile chemicals. S&D Chemicals is the only chemical company in Sri Lanka and the first in the subcontinent to achieve the Bluesign System Partner certification. Textile professionals from different textile mills, garment washing factories, buying houses, owners, and researchers were present at the symposium.
Mr. Dayantha De Silva, Chairman, S&D Group welcomed all at the symposium. He had a short description on S&D Chemicalsand the success stories of his outfits. He mentioned that, S&D Group is working relentlessly to achieve the highest sustainable products for textile processing mills and washing plants. Research & Development is a continuous process of S&D which ensures the best quality products. Mr ChandimaPunyawardana, Director Marketing, Redox Chemicals Industries, Bangladesh joined Mr. Dayantha to highlight on product innovations and the latest products in the pipeline.
Mr. Christain Dreszig, Head of Marketing & Communication, Bluesign Technologies Ag, had a presentation on “Legal Compliance and Sustainable Production- a competitive advantage”. He describe the legal issues and benefits to maintaining the compliance. While his colleague, Mr. Walter Streiler, Customers’ Relation Asia, Bluesign Technologies ag highlighted on the path to achieving system partnership.
Professionals from different factories and buying houses expressed their satisfaction with using S&D products. The symposium came to an end amid thanks giving and applauses.
